The Undeveloped Story

This week I wanted to look into the idea of God’s will for our lives. Isn’t that what The Church longs to know? What does God want them to do with their life? This was what I was struggling with last week but I’ve figured out why it was going so poorly. The best advice I’ve heard is to stop worrying about God’s will for your life. You see, this isn’t some sort of puzzle that we can figure out by thinking about it. The way God works is by changing you inside so that your entire life is transformed, He doesn’t just give us the answers to life. He never promises us a long-term plan because that would defeat the whole idea of relying on Him daily.

You want to know what God wants you to do with your life? What He wants you to do with each day? How He would want you to act in a given situation? Then get to know Him. Spend time with Him. Read your Bible and pray, everyday. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” The MacArthur Bible Commentary says, “That kind of transformation can occur only as the Holy Spirit changes our thinking through consistent study and meditation on Scripture.”

When we are really in tune with God we can feel the Holy Spirit leading us much more clearly. When we stress about what to do with our lives we are worrying, we are saying that we don’t want to rely on God. Isn’t it much more appealing to not stress about decisions? Turn them over to God and don’t worry about them. Worry about getting to know God and then you’ll know His heart and what He wants for your life.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.  Ephesians 1:17

Change should start with us. God has given the power to choose and he did gave us all the answers that we need to our questions. It’s just that we have to seek the answers for ourselves in order for us realize the importance of things. The transformation, I’m sure, will change you view life.
