Taking Steps of Faith with Christ

November 8, 2010 |

I was raised in what I would call a semi-Christian home. I was never taught about having a personal relationship with Jesus, but I was taught the real significance behind Christian holidays and I was taught many of the same basic principles of the Bible for living my life. When I was 10 years old, we moved to a new city and some neighbors invited us to attend AWANAS. We began to attend church and by the end of my first year of AWANAS I had given my life to Christ.   During my school years I had a great group of Christian friends and as a result I never got into alcohol or drugs or anything like that. It was really easy in my group to stay on the straight and narrow, which was really cool, but I never felt like I made a difference for Christ while at…    read more

Creation Tidbits – The Hoatzin Bird

November 3, 2010 |

The Hoatzin, the national bird of Guyana, is an unusual species of tropical bird found in swamps, riverine forest and mangroves of the Amazon and the Orinoco delta in South America. The scientific classification of this family of birds has been greatly debated, and is still far from clear. It is a roughly pheasant-sized bird, with a long neck and small head. It is brown in color, with paler underparts and has an un-feathered blue face with maroon eyes, and its head is topped by a spiky, rufous crest.  It is called Stinkbird, the name is related to a strong smell the bird produces, perhaps due to the consumption of leaves. Even though these birds are very attractive and are not great fliers, they are not considered endangered, its survival seems to be more assured than that of many other birds in its geographic location, this  is mostly due to…    read more

Evangelical Awed and Amazed by Evolution?

November 1, 2010 |

I thought I’d share some thoughts I had while at work today making donuts. I never read the newspaper except when I make donuts because we spread it out to keep the oil from getting all over the nice clean stainless steel tables. Usually there isn’t much worth reading, especially in this small Kentucky town, but today this headline caught my eye, “Evangelical Awed and Amazed by Evolution”, so I began reading. The article really had nothing to do with evolution or creation, nor of the debate between them but rather how Christians are silly to hold to their fight against Evolution which obviously is a fight against science. While I don’t have the statistics or head knowledge to fight like Ken Ham, I know that there are also plenty of evolutionists who are wowed by creation after they make the switch. I was raised believing in creation, that God…    read more

Xara 3D Type in a Wallpaper Project: Photo manipulation is always fun, it opens the spectrum of what we can create in Photoshop and allow our imagination to run wild! Today we will be re-creating a wallpaper called “Life”. In this wallpaper, I used some simple techniques to pull all my elements together, like 3D typography from Xara3D, and a few images. The inspiration for this image came from a reflection on how we can see the majesty of God in creation. Every living thing has a purpose in the circle of life, and we can’t help, but give God the glory and honor! Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created. The Chicken Came First!

Ever heard something that just made you chuckle, and at the same time, warm your heart so much you gave praise and thanks to God? We were watching the news yesterday when the upcoming headline was announced, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?“. The headline left me waiting for the answer as they switched to commercial. While we waited for the news to return, I said to my brother, “Here they go again with these wasted researches that we already have an answer to, the chicken came first, don’t they know that?”. My brother and I had a nice laugh, then reflected on why we knew the chicken came first; I explained that maybe everyone does not know the reason why we have that conclusion in our heads, but it just seemed so obvious to us. Bible believing Christians would agree with me that the chicken had to…    read more

January 8, 2010 |

The giraffe is an African even-toed ungulate mammal, the tallest of all land-living animal species that exist today, and the largest ruminant. Males can be 16 to 18 feet tall and weigh up to 3,800 pounds. The record-sized bull, shot in Kenya in 1934 was 19.2 ft tall and weighed approximately 4,400 lb. Giraffes can inhabit savannas, grasslands, or open woodlands. They prefer areas enriched with acacia growth. They drink large quantities of water and, as a result, they can spend long periods of time in dry, arid areas. When searching for more food they will venture into areas with denser foliage. Spectacular Photos of Creation-Part 3

September 15, 2009 |

This post continues our Spectacular Photos of Creation series, we have looked at many photos, and yet, we have seen just a small sample of the majesty of what was created. There are so many animals, birds and fishes, it is beyond our imagination, and to think, some of the animals that were created are already extinct. and we are still discovering unknown species in the rain forest and in the depths of the ocean. As you reflect upon the work of God, take time out to give him thanks and praise! For this is what the LORD says—He who created the heavens, He is God; He who fashioned and made the earth, He founded it; He did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited— He says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other. Why Believe in Genesis – Part 2

In our previous post entitled, “Why Believe in Genesis” , we concluded that the Genesis account of creation can be trusted, because everything that God said He created, we can see with our eyes and they are exactly where He said we would find them and doing exactly what they were created to do. He created the sun, moon and the stars for signs and seasons, days and years, Genesis 1:14-16. He created all life from dust and when they die, they return to the dust, Genesis 3:19. God created different species of animals to reproduce after their own kind, Genesis 1:25. He made man and gave him dominion (power and authority) over the earth and all the animals, Genesis 1:26. He created the heavens and the earth in six days and ended all of His work on the seventh day, Genesis 2:2. We still live and work by that…    read more

Why Believe in Genesis – Part 1

Why should we, as Christians, continue to believe in the genesis accounts of creation? We grow up in a society that teaches us about evolution and that the world began from one big cosmic bang and that our ultimate origins are from cosmic dust that fell from space to the earth and formed a primordial soup which eventually, over millions of years, formed all life here on earth. Some Christians believe that the evolutionary process may have been used by God in His creative process. Some have started to blend both ideas, but God did not proclaim in His word, that He used such processes to create anything. Human beings are born with the innate sense of discovery, we want to know how the entire universe and the earth came to be, how it all began?, why we are here? and who made us? Why is that? The book of…    read more

Beatitudes Christian Wallpapers Bundle

The Beatitudes Christian Wallpapers

Beatitudes Christian Wallpapers – The word Beatitude comes from the Latin beatus, meaning blessed. The beatitudes are profound teachings from Jesus found in the Bible. These teachings were very counter-cultural in the days of Jesus and are the same to this day, but in the economy of God, the characteristics shown by the people he described are beneficiaries of God’s richest blessings. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. TIME IS ALMOST UP WALLPAPER

Time is Almost Up Wallpaper

Time is Almost Up Wallpaper: Many people ask, “Are we in the last days?” Well, to be honest, I certainly think that we are. Does this belief mean that every Christian should sell what they have, quit their jobs and move to the mountains to wait on the Lord? No, because that would be un-Biblical and just plain stupid. I would say this though, it’s time for the complaisant Christians to re-evaluate their walk with God and start running the race to save as many souls as possible. The signs are all around us, in the news and in our everyday lives. One doesn’t have to look far to see that time is winding down. ” This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. A LITTLE PERSPECTIVE WALLPAPER

A Little Perspective Wallpaper

A Little Perspective Wallpaper. One of my first elective classes in college was Psychology 101, on the first day of class, the teacher came in and introduced himself and started an introductory speech that I found had nothing to do with the topic of psychology. He was explaining that religion on a whole, has got it all wrong and that religion teaches that they have the answer to man’s problems; he went on to say that the Bible in particular is just a book of myths and fables and we should not place our trust in it. He then went on to say that the Bible has many errors! Example, the Bible teaches that the world is flat!! Obviously I was very shocked that he was saying these things to the students. The teacher seemed very uninformed and had a lot of prejudice; he obviously did not study history. Historians,…    read more

UNBRIDLED POWER WALLPAPER

Unbridled Power Wallpaper

Unbridled Power Wallpaper. In times of distress we can soon forget the power of the God we serve, but if we take time to read His words we are easily reminded of His awesome power! Job was reminded about the power of the horse. This reminder came in the form of simple rhetorical questions, that made Job think. If we look at God’s creation we see the almighty power of God on display and the only thing we can do in return is praise Him and be uplifted in our hearts. This powerful God we serve promises to never leave us or forsake us, He is greater than any trial that may come our way, so keep on holding on and place your trust in Him. Bible’s Inspiration in the Hydrologic Cycle

August 28, 2008 |

Bible’s Inspiration Hydrologic Cycle. Water is the source that maintains all life on earth. The distribution of water however, is quite varied; many locations have plenty of it while others have very little. Water exists on earth as a solid (ice), liquid or gas (water vapor). Oceans, rivers, clouds, and rain, all of which contain water, are in a frequent state of change (surface water evaporates, cloud water precipitates, rainfall infiltrates the ground, etc.). However, the total amount of the earth’s water does not change. The circulation and conservation of earth’s water is called the “hydrologic cycle”. The Hydrologic Cycle-Online meteorology guide Revealed in the Bible: Job 36:27-28 The water cycle was not fully understood until about 30 B.C. by a Roman engineer named Marcus Vitruvius. Yet every aspect of the water cycle was fully revealed to mankind in 1600 B.C.! The Bible’s description is in perfect harmony with modern…    read more

Creative Order

Creative Order. God created everything with function and order. Every species of animal was created with separate abilities and they were designed to carry out each function for living and surviving and they reproduced successfully their own kind. Evolutionist would love to brain wash us into believing that we evolved over millions of years from different species to the next, but nature does not show this happening (It will never happen, if it does happen we will never live long enough to see it), but what we do see are animals reproducing naturally in nature, different kinds of the same species. “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial…    read more

Chief of The Ways of God

Chief of The Ways of God. The book of Job highlights many attributes of God and His creation including some animals he created along with man, from the smallest to the greatest. God was challenging Job with many rhetorical questions, so he could recognize the supremacy of the creator. The animals are ones that Job would have been very familiar with in his time. Behemoth: is a creature mentioned in the Book of Job. The word is most likely a plural form of (bÉ™hÄ“māh), meaning beast or large animal. It indicates that Behemoth is the largest and most powerful land animal ever to exist. The passage describes Behemoth in this way: it was created along with man (Job 40:15a), it is herbivorous (Job 40:15b), it has strong muscles and bones, and it lives in the swamp (Job 40:21). -Wiki “Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass…    read more

Laminin Declares The Supremacy of God

Laminin Declares The Supremacy of God says Louie Giglio has he speaks about how it relates to the human body and life in general. He speaks about Laminin the protein network foundation for most cells and organs. Laminin are an important and biologically active part of the basal lamina, influencing cell differentiation, migration, adhesion as well as phenotype and survival, in simple terms Laminin molecules holds every cell in our body together. It just amazes me that the molecule that holds everything together in our bodies shapes like a cross, but more importantly that God cares about me in every way He holds everything together and in Him we have life.
