The Lord has sent me to FarmVille, a game available on social networks. In FarmVille, players grow crops and trees, raise animals, put up buildings, and visit other players’ environments, while earning coins to “unlock” items that help them advance. Strange you may think, and you’re not alone. At first I thought so too.
However, the Lord’s thoughts are not ours and His ways are much higher and much different. He has been using me through meeting new people, a new field to go into. Sharing thoughts and words as He lays them upon my heart. Speaking to me spiritually through playing FarmVille. It is astounding to me how much FarmVille on Facebook relates to many passages in the Bible.
The tending to and the caring of. Giving to others and helping others in need….Oh it is amazing:) Unless the Lord, shall till us by his grace, we shall produce nothing that is good, but everything that is evil. Jesus says to all of us, “You and I must be born again.” Unless God the Holy Spirit breaks up the heart with the plow of the law, and sows it with the seed of the gospel, not a single ear of holiness will any of us produce. Yes, and the plow is needed not only to produce that which is good, but to destroy that which is evil.
When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and working the soil? Isaiah 28:24
God must put his own right hand to the plow, or the hemlock of sin will never give place to the corn of holiness. Good is never spontaneous in unrenewed humanity, and evil is never cut up till the plowshare of almighty grace is driving through it.
So does the plowman plow all day to sow? “Yes, in the proper season he does plow all day to sow”; but I see a No as well. No, the plowman does not plow every day to sow; he has other work to do according to the season.” When it is plowing time he keeps on at it till his work is done; if it requires one day, or two days, or twenty days to finish his fields, he continues his task while the weather permits.
The perseverance of the plowman is instructive, and it teaches us a double lesson. When the Lord comes to plow the heart of man he plows all day, and herein is his patience; and, secondly, so ought the Lord’s servants to labor all day with men’s hearts, and herein is our perseverance. “Does the plowman plow all day?” So does God plow the heart of man, and herein is his patience.
Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. James 5:7

Very interesting that God spoke to you through this game that deals with farming. I see Godly lessons anytime I am outside in nature and when I am mowing my lawn. Take for example weeds, if you do not tend to your lawn, the weeds takes over and destroys everything, same with our spiritual lives, if we do not read our Bible and pray everyday, sin takes over and destroys everything, so many lessons to be learned!! 🙂
I enjoyed reading what you shared. The bible truly revives us and renews us. Jesus does his greatest work from within us. He always starts at the heart of every person. You reminded me of the soils, the tares, the hard ground, thistles and thorns. I live in farm country. I’m surrounded by it. It is beautiful. the Lord is the husbandman of the field. Just as a farmer must go in and till up his field, so to does the Lord. He tills up the heard ground and the soft. Planting His seed. the word into our hearts.
some reject it and some receive it into their hearts. His word shall never return void unto us. He promises this. the field then harvested the fruits thereof. 30-60-90 and 100 fold.
Daily I am reminded when playing farm-ville as I plow and till and harvest my crops.
So much to glean from as you said everyday and in all that the Lord directs our step to and leads us by His precious hand.
The Lord bless you!
