I found myself being still before the Lord today, seeking His face about something that took place and I was reminded of this scripture today as I sat still before the Lord. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” Amos 4:6 O my! The Bible is filled with so much, so much to learn, to inquire of the Lord and so much revealed to us in His word.
My people perish and are destroyed, wow, those words alone are a mighty mouthful. They were once His people yet they are destroyed. Destroyed and perish without the knowledge of the Living God. The True knowledge of Who He is, God. A Mighty and Sovereign God, we are all called to serve in this earth.
Famine of the Word by Sheepkinz
The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD, “when I will send a famine through the land–not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Amos 8:11
Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it. Amos 8:12
Someone posed a question. It was something I learned and truly realized today, just how very much God’s truth is lacking. The knowledge of God and what His word says. I witnessed the opinions of a man being spewed forth, and it was so far off from the word of God. I was speechless for a bit. I tried not to say anything, but I was compelled to speak what the Bible says. So many don’t believe in evil spirits and demons. They believe everything comes from our own mind and mans knowledge. That power is given to them, to do freely. I went to the word and it spoke differently. The word says to us that God gives us power to overcome.
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Luke 10:19
We are not above our Master, Jesus Christ. All power comes from my Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, not you or me, but He who abides in the body of believers, the Holy Spirit. All power comes from above, way above:)
and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every POWER and AUTHORITY. Colossians 2:10
I was called names, persecuted for showing scripture. That is not what bothered me. Man’s opinions are nothing, nothing compared to the true knowledge and wisdom that comes from our Lord Jesus.What bothered me is the group of people not desiring the truth, nor to even know Him. Some spoke of reading many books and they believe their knowledge comes from those books. Sadly, that is not the truth. While there are a few great books out there, there is only one GREAT book and that is the BIBLE. Knowledge from man is quite different than the Knowledge that comes from the Lord Jesus.
We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5
It is He who gives to us His knowledge and understanding and wisdom. We cannot force the Word of the Lord on any such person. It is the Lord who draws all men/women unto Himself. He can place you or them in our paths to witness and to bear much fruit. However I cannot do that without the Lords divine leading and direction.
I so realized how much truth is truly lacking today in this world and they are perishing, because they willfully desired not to know the truth. Fruit was bore today among the rotten corn. Those with ears to hear will hear the truth and desire to know the truth above all the rotten seed. Some fell on good soil, hearts open to receive, while other fell upon the thorns and the thistles. There is a famine in the land. It is not for physical food or water, it is for the word of God. There will come a time when those will search and seek for Gods word, but it shall not be found!
The Lord will place us where He so desires whether they hear or whether they forebear. We must, as servant of the Lord, continue into the higher calling of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ no matter the cost. I encourage myself and all of us to continue sharing the Word, because out of that 5 or 10, or even 100, there perhaps is one that is open to receive what the Lord has for them. Remember the Lord left the 99 to go after the one lost sheep:)
What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? Luke 15:4

Yes, amen and will share here with what the Lord had spoken forth unto me awhile ago while being still before the Lord the hand of the Lord came upon me:
I AM the Lord thy God and I have anointed thee to speak forth, all that I shall speak through you so shall you speak. For many have spoken by the arm of the flesh and the oldness of the letter. But I have written My law into the true hearts of my sons and into the true hearts of my daughters, whom shall speak forth whatsoever they hear, by My Spirit, say’s the Lord. For the heart of many have walked in the way of the Cain’s by the arm of the flesh and not by My Spirit. These are they whom have not given up self to come fully and wholly unto Me, for they speak not the truth of My word. For I spoken to and Now speak to a stiff-necked, rebellious people who will not turn from their unrighteous acts and from their unholy ways.For many have followed in the way of Baalam.
These are they whom have profaned My Holy Word says the Lord and will not Hearken unto Me, nor humble themselves under the hand of the Almighty Living God. For I have begun a good work unto the seperating of the Cains and of the Ables,from the Holy and from the Profane. To the seperating of my righteous from the unrighteous who will not walk in My ways, nor hearken to wise counsel, says the Lord. I bore the sins for all of mankind. I the Lord thy God have rent the hearts of many. I rent the curtain asunder and by a new and better covenant, I the Lord thy God have called a Holy people unto me. Seperated from the world, a holy people, a righteous people have I set apart. As the world knew me not, so they know not mine own. My chosen.
For Wisdom cries out into the streets and Understanding lies at the hearts and the doors of men. Knowledge rest in the pages of My Holy Word and in the Inner man. By My Spirit, My Truth beckons at the doors for sinners to come and for repentance to be laid across the inner heart of man. Righteousness calls out to walk in my Truth and just ways and not in the ways of man.
For I have called and now call forth for a Holy people to walk in My Spirit and in My Truth upon this earth. To Hearken unto me in all of thy ways. To understand Me, says the Lord is to understand My Word and that of My Righteous and right ways and to Fear Me is the beginning of Wisdom, Knowledge. Truth and Righteousness are my righteous ways and the just shall surely walk in them. I am the Pillar and ground of Truth. I Am the Pillar of Wisdom. I Am the Pillar of Knowledge. I Am the Pillar of Understanding. I Am the Pillar of Righteousness.I am the Pillar of Councel. I am the Pillar of Strength.I Am the Great and Terrible God judging the just and the unjust in this earth. I AM the God of Righteousness and the God of Truth.
The Cains shall remain in blindness for they lead daily, many people astray. I the Lord shall pluck them from their hands. I will shoot forth a firebrand and will it not pierce? It shall surely pierce. Wherefore I send My Word it Shall not return unto Me void, says the Lord. Come out from among them says the Lord and be ye seperate unto Me and walk in thy right ways and Acknowledge that I Am He whom saves. I Am He who brings forth deliverance. I Am He who opens the prison doors . I am the Lord thy God who sets the captives free. For I Am, He who holds the key to the gates of heaven and to the gates of sheol. I will deliver those whom are bound and who have been held captive and led into bondage by the way of the many Cain’s. Powerful words. here is my scriptural reference the term I coined earlier, “famine of the Holy Spirt.
2 Thessalonians 2:6-10 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
Basically the Holy Spirit will get out of the way to let the wicked be revealed. People will curse God during this time (even though they sin) and blame Him for everything. So, not a famine as in the true sense of the word, but a change in activity, basically a release of the wicked one to do as he want. The Christians will be gone during this time.
The words “withholdeth” and “letteth” are both the same Greek word, meaning to hold down or as we would say, to hold back.
The Holy Spirit will hold back the Antichrist and other activities of the devil until it is His perfect timing for the endtimes to come to pass. He will not be gone – He is omnipresent, after all – however, the work that He will do will change.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Great share Sheepkinz, it is interesting that you speak of a spiritual famine, I heard a radio program yesterday, encouraging all Christians to pray for a great revival, there are pockets of revival spreading across the world, even here in America, but for the most part, we are experiencing a great famine, people are turning away from God and the Church and as you say, some in leadership positions are going after their own agendas, money, power etc. I pray that their will be a revival in this world we live, so much is going on, earthquakes, typhoons, fires, flooding, everyday their is a new occurrence reported on the news.
Ah, now I see where you are coming from. Yes, the Lord
will allow much destruction to happen. The Lord will seal those whom are His
and those lamps will be filled. For He whom has started a good work within us, shall
bring -perfect , mature, grow up in Him….

A famine of the Word is worst than a famine of natural resources. We have many resources to get the Word of God today but a lot are not taking advantage – we are ignoring the feast and consuming garbage instead. There will be a famine of the Holy Spirit also in the last days.
You had me pondering on what you stated! Holy Ghost famine! Never heard of that!
Very thought provoking. I know what Joel and Acts speak of in the last days about the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, thats scriptural, indeed!
However I received a dream last week and today.
About the religious system, polluted altars are flooding the earth, yes Polluted altars. Garbage of the worst. To keep people from trustting in God and relying upon Him. they point to self, man, traditions of mere men and let me say mere women.
the two dreams were of the TRUE Bride and the religious system. the religious system abhors the true bride,. the true bride will not compromise herself. she will stand upon the truth. that truth is the very word of God. the true Bride will speak out against the false doctrine, the demon doctrines of mere men and women… she is a harlot, prostituting herself because she does not desire a husband, our Lord Jesus Christ. they desire to go after everything and anything new that comes there way.
In one of the dreams the religious system tried to take away the glory of the Lord from the Bride, but the bride refused.
In the other dream today. It was the bun wearing penacostal , and one another religious denomination attacking the True bride. they tried to order the True bride around and the True bride said, NO , Thank YOU!
They are a religious system living under rules and regulations the Lord Jesus Christ came to abolish and has set free the captives….
It is organized religion that binds a person to rules of man instead of living by the Spirit of the Lord. A famine indeed, no thirst for the truth and no hunger for the real manna- food that brings life eternal….It is rather sickening unto my stomach and to my whole being. For should we not abhor what the Lord abhors and love what the Lord loves and what does the Lord love>? TRUTH! His Truth and it lies within the pages of His word. I would like to share something the Lord spoke to me awhile back.
Amen.. I was very blessed and encouraged to keep sharing the Gospel and live the truth around my college friends. It reminds me of the quote from Dr. Bill Bright: “Success in witnessing is simply taking the initiative to share Christ in the Power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God.”
