Experiencing God’s Consuming Fire!

April 1, 2011| sheepkinz2

There is a depth in God whereby one enters the friendly fire that is Him and wishes to be no place else. It consumes a person in the same way love consumes the lover. His consuming fire enters the spirit of man and burns with the same fire that burns within Him. It consumes everything in its path, like a roaring fire when it overtakes and consumes everything in its way. If there be any hesitance at entering in, that consideration melts before Him. One is totally immersed in His fire and realizes such baptism is the baptism into Him.

I was pondering about this… Dross is everything that comes to the top and is burned off. Malachi 3:3 speaks of the Lord, for He is the REFINER and PURIFIER of our very being.

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness. Malachi 3:3

When we allow the Lord to burn everything up within us, we are then able to walk in His Holy Fire. There is a Holy Fire and it is the Lord’s. All power belongs to the Lord. We are called to repent and to be baptized with and in the Holy Ghost, with fire and with water.

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire: Matthew 3:11

He shall baptize you and all who will openly receive and turn and repent with the Holy Ghost and with fire – He shall fill those with the Holy Ghost, inflaming your hearts with that fire of love, which many waters cannot quench. And this was done, even with a visible appearance as of fire, on the day of Pentecost.

Two fires burn and ignite!!! The Fires of hell and the Fire of GOD!!! Here is a word of caution, not to trust in outward privileges. There is a great deal which carnal hearts are apt to say within themselves, to put aside the convincing, commanding power of the word of God. Multitudes, by resting in the honors’ and mere advantages of their being members of an outward church, come short of heaven.

Here is a word of terror to the careless and secure. Our corrupt hearts cannot be made to produce good fruit, unless the regenerating Spirit of Christ grafts the good word of God upon them. And every tree, however high in gifts and honors’, however green in outward professions and performances, if it brings not forth good fruit, the fruits meet for repentance, is hewn down and cast into the fire of God’s wrath, the fittest place for barren trees: what else are they good for?

If not fit for fruit, they are fit for fuel. John shows the design and intention of Christ’s appearing, which they were now speedily to expect. No outward forms can make us clean. No ordinances, by whosoever administered, or after whatever mode, can supply the want of the baptism of the Holy Ghost and of fire. The purifying and cleansing power of the Holy Spirit alone can produce that purity of heart, and those Holy affections, which accompany salvation.

It is Christ who baptizes with the Holy Ghost. This he did in the extraordinary gifts of the Spirit sent upon the apostles, Acts 2:4. This he does in the graces and comforts of the Spirit, given to those that ask him, Luke 11:13; John 7:38-39; see Acts 11:16. Observe here, the outward church is Christ’s floor, Isaiah 21:10. True believers are as wheat, substantial, useful, and valuable; hypocrites are as chaff, light and empty, useless and worthless, carried about with every wind; these are mixed, good and bad, in the same outward communion.

There is a day coming when the wheat and chaff shall be separated. The last judgment will be the distinguishing day, when saints and sinners shall be parted forever. In heaven the saints are brought together, and no longer scattered; they are safe, and no longer exposed; separated from corrupt neighbors without, and corrupt affections within, and there is no chaff among them. Hell is the unquenchable fire, which will certainly be the portion and punishment of hypocrites and unbelievers. Now life and death, good and evil, are set before us: according as we now are in the field, we shall be then in the floor.

So many preachers are offering doctrines of demons, tainted and not fit for the eating. So many people are deep in the false gospels of this world, people anointing people and calling them to an office. It is the Lord who anoints, for He is the Anointed One! For the Lord thy God has never, never called them. Man teaches that they will equip you, but God says He will equip you for every good work.

So many have lost their way and follow after the false gospels that run rampant throughout christen-dom. My ears become ever attuned when someone says I’m a prophet, I’m a prophetess, I’m a this, I’m a that… God’s true servants are humble unto Him and they walk accordingly to His will and for His purpose, their desire is to please God, not man.

Sadly we have the tithing bowl saying give and give and give until you’re broke. All the while the building becomes larger and the people fall further into the mire, to further follow after the teachings of man instead of following wholeheartedly after the Lord thy God. Seeking man’s face instead of the Lord Jesus’ face, all the while seeking guidance from man instead of praying in the Holy Ghost and asking the Lord and the Holy Ghost to teach and guide and lead.

There are two fires, one leading to Holiness and to life eternal. The other to the burning pits of hell. Either we allow the Lord to burn us up in His Holy Fire or we are in danger of the hell fires that lead to death everlasting.

He is a Consuming FIRE!, GOD!!!!! Allow him to show you the false and the lies that the false gospels bring forth….Allow Him to reveal and to burn up everything that is not of HIM!!!! Ask the Lord, and then Believe HE will DO IT!

I loved reading this! Gods Love is foolishness to those that have not tasted or experienced it. We are all being consumed by something in this life,Im grateful that Gods Love and Fire are what consumes me!

Yes indeed “It consumes a person in the way love consumes the lover. That’S the kind of Fire I’m seeking to experience; maybe I have but it will never be enough.
This a well inspired thought, thanks for sharing. It’s what I seek and feel, but could never put it into words.

    What a beautiful post!

“It consumes a person in the same way love consumes the lover.” Great comparison – the first thought that came to mind was “gracefully”.

    Thanks for this 🙂
