I was raised in what I would call a semi-Christian home. I was never taught about having a personal relationship with Jesus, but I was taught the real significance behind Christian holidays and I was taught many of the same basic principles of the Bible for living my life. When I was 10 years old, we moved to a new city and some neighbors invited us to attend AWANAS. We began to attend church and by the end of my first year of AWANAS I had given my life to Christ.
During my school years I had a great group of Christian friends and as a result I never got into alcohol or drugs or anything like that. It was really easy in my group to stay on the straight and narrow, which was really cool, but I never felt like I made a difference for Christ while at school. I was just worrying about having fun and although I had a personal relationship with Jesus, it didn’t really feel like a daily walk. Then in December of 2008, I decided that I wanted to work on strengthening my personal relationship with God, so I got baptized.
During baptism classes there was a gentleman who warned everyone in the room that we are taking a step of faith and when we take steps of faith often the devil will try and attack us in someway. I never really gave it much thought, but when my parents got divorced a couple of month’s later, things became all too real. During that time I really turned to God for comfort and strength and He did a great job of building me up. I knew that I could not really rely on my parents anymore, they were both there for my sister and me, but they were in a bad state and I knew I had to start directing my own life.
Then near the end of last school semester, I finished up an online course early, which gave me some free time. I started spending a lot of time with friends and I started getting seriously into photography. It was actually through photography that I really began to connect with God, while going out to do photos I would often spend my time with God, which I found quite easy to do when surrounded by His beautiful creation. I can’t really explain what happened, but I just felt so much happier and I knew that I wanted more. I felt like I had spent nearly my whole life focused on myself and I wanted to change this and focusing on God. That is when I decided to take a break from life and come to Bible school and now here I am.
I don’t know what the future holds now, but I am okay with that, I must be patient and continue to seek God’s will. I know that I have so much potential to impact people for Christ and I am very excited to see how He will use me in the future.

Thought For The Day
The biggest step that you can take in life is a step of faith in Christ. Christ paid the ultimate price on the cross by dying for your sins, this was his gift of love and forgiveness to you because he love you that much! Will you accept His gift today?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Awesome post! Really inspiring. And I know just how wonderful God’s creation is, I’m also a photographer and look at nature though a different eye then most people and can’t help but marvel.
Very nice photo & witness to go along with it. God bless you in your work for Him.
Great to see the Lord working in such a young life with all the bad news we see on the news concerning young people, your testimony is very refreshing, great to know that the Lord has brought you through such a depressing situation and still using you for His Glory, Amen!!
Yeah! Its so great to see you on here Brandon! Your testimony and pictures are fabulous. I see so much of God’s character in you. Welcome!
That’s a beautiful photo Brandon. Keep pressing forward in the Lord and continue to seek diligently after Him. He has a great and mighty work ahead for you – the harvest needs more laborers.
Thank you for your intimate sharing of your faith journey. It’s one beautiful example of how the Lord can lead us slowly and gently into deep intimacy with Him. So many testimonies shared are of the “bolt of lightning and my life was never the same” category. Those stories are wonderful and valid, but no less valid than what you describe. We need more testimonies like yours to show folks that God leads us in a myriad of ways into the personal relationship He offers. Bless you!
