With all the rush and bustle of this season, we may forget that Jesus came as a servant to the lost, though he is Lord of Lords.

This season isn’t for showy gifts or glittering decoration; It’s for honoring our Savior, Jesus Christ in humble adoration.

So, as we enjoy the things that gives this season of celebration all of its meaning, let’s never lose focus of the truth, that Jesus is Lord and came to save us from our sin.

Discovering Christ happens when we come to the realization that we need Him. We do not know the day he was born (because He has hidden it from us). It was not a grand event by earthly standards. He came to us as a humble King, born in a stable, in the least of places; Bethlehem. The wise men went on a path to find Christ the day He was born, we too must take our own journey to discover Him and have a personal relationship with Him. The personage of Christ cannot be understood by our own reasoning and intellect, but by Him, revealing himself to us. We must take this journey towards His revelation by reading His word.

John 1:1-5 Reveals His History and Deity
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him (Jesus) and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”

Genesis 3:15 Reveals His Promise to Mankind.
“And I will put enmity between thee (Satan) and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his (Jesus) heel.”

Isaiah 7:14 Reveals His Sign
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (God with us)

Isaiah 9:6 Reveals The Prince of Peace
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Revelation 4:11 Reveals His Everlasting Glory
“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

The wise men were scientists who studied the heavens. The stars led them to the scriptures, and the scriptures led them to the Savior. The Word of God speaks to us in ways we can understand. Search for the Savior and you will find Him, not in the Mass Celebrations of Christmas, but in His Word.
